INDEX and MATCH
Look up a value from any column, even one to the left of the column you search, with INDEX and MATCH.
In this lesson
- MATCH returns a position counted from the top of its range (1, 2, 3…), not the sheet's row number.
- End MATCH with 0 for exact match.
- Start both ranges on the same row (A2:A13 with E2:E13), or every result is off by a row with no error.
