Dropdown from a range

Build a dropdown whose choices come from a list of cells on another sheet, and stretch it when the list grows.

Confident · 11 min · 13 steps

In this lesson

  • Put the choices in cells, one per cell, on their own sheet (for example Lists!A2:A6).
  • Select the cells for the dropdown, then Data, then Data Validation.
  • Keep the $ signs: without them the source slides down for each row.
