LEFT, RIGHT and MID
Pull the first, last or middle characters out of a code with LEFT, RIGHT and MID, counting the start position correctly.
In this lesson
- Positions count from 1, and every character counts.
- MID's third number is how many characters to take, not where to stop.
- The results are text: leading zeros stay (0412). Use
=VALUE(…)when you need a number.
