Remove hidden characters and extra spaces
Find the characters TRIM can't remove, such as non-breaking spaces and line breaks, and clean them with SUBSTITUTE, CLEAN and TRIM in one formula.
In this lesson
- TRIM removes only normal spaces (number 32).
- Spot a hidden character:
=LEN(A2)counts more than you see. =CLEAN(A2)removes line breaks and the other non-printing characters numbered 0 to 31.
