Split text with SPLIT
Split text into cells with one SPLIT formula, and keep each piece whole when the delimiter is more than one character.
In this lesson
- SPLIT cuts text into pieces and puts each piece in its own cell:
=SPLIT(A2,", ",FALSE). - The delimiter is the text between the pieces, such as a comma and a space.
- By default SPLIT cuts at each character of the delimiter, so ", " also cuts at every space.
