Totals that ignore hidden rows (SUBTOTAL)
Add up, count and average only the rows a filter leaves showing, with SUBTOTAL and the codes 109, 103 and 101.
In this lesson
=SUBTOTAL(109, range)adds up only the rows that are showing. SUM adds hidden rows too.- Codes 101 to 111 skip rows hidden by a filter and rows you hide yourself.
- Put SUBTOTAL outside the filtered rows (below the list or above the headers), or the filter can hide the answer.
